The basic principle of die casting is to quickly inject liquid or semi-liquid metal into the cavity of a metal mold under high pressure, and then cool and solidify it under pressure to obtain a casting. The die casting process mainly includes the following steps:

Mold preparation: First, preheat the mold to ensure that the mold reaches a suitable working temperature to avoid rapid cooling of the molten metal due to too low temperature, which affects the quality of the casting. At the same time, evenly spray lubricant on the surface of the mold to reduce the friction between the mold and the molten metal, which is convenient for demolding the casting.

Metal smelting: According to the performance requirements of the required casting, select suitable metal materials (such as aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, magnesium alloy, etc.), and heat and melt them to a molten state. Strictly control the smelting temperature to ensure that the molten metal has good fluidity.

High-pressure injection: The smelted molten metal is quickly injected into the mold cavity under high pressure through the injection system of the die casting machine. High pressure can enable the molten metal to quickly fill every corner of the mold, ensuring the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the casting.

‌Pressure holding and cooling‌: After the molten metal fills the cavity, a certain pressure is maintained to ensure that the metal is denser during the solidification process and reduce defects such as shrinkage cavities and shrinkage. Over time, the molten metal gradually cools and solidifies in the mold, forming a shape consistent with the mold cavity. ‌Demolding‌: When the casting is completely solidified, the casting is pushed out of the mold by the ejector of the die-casting machine. After that, the excess parts such as the gate, runner, and flash on the casting are removed.
